WEEK 19 β€” Reliability Under Load

Theme: Does It Keep Working?
Building an AI network is one thing.

Keeping it reliable when thousands of users, agents, and applications depend on it is another.

This week is focused on reliability testing. We want to understand how Ambient behaves under real-world conditions, identify where failures occur, and improve the experience before scaling further.

Your feedback this week isn't just about whether something worked - it's about how it behaved when things didn't.

What's New This Week?
This week we're putting Ambient under pressure.
The goal is to uncover bottlenecks, intermittent failures, and edge cases that only appear through sustained, real-world usage.
The more diverse the testing, the stronger the network becomes.

πŸ‘€ User Loop β€” "Is It Reliable?"
Push Ambient through real-world usage and help us identify where reliability starts to break down.

Test:
High-frequency prompting
Long-running conversations
Desktop and API workflows
Repeated requests
Multi-session usage

Specifically Report:
429 rate limit errors
500 / 502 / 504 server errors
Streaming responses stopping unexpectedly
Tool calls failing or returning incorrect results
Corrupted, incomplete, or malformed outputs
Responses that required multiple retries
Slow responses or unusually high latency
Timeouts or requests that never complete
Inconsistent behaviour when running the same prompt multiple times

When Reporting an Issue, Include:
What you were trying to do
The model or feature you were using
The error message (if any)
Screenshots or logs where possible
Whether the issue was repeatable
Share all findings in:
https://discord.com/channels/1334942930695225365/1448970141940322354

The more specific your reports, the easier it is for the team to reproduce and fix issues.

πŸ› οΈ Dev Loop β€” "Failure Handling"

Production applications should assume failures will happen.

Build & Test:
Retry logic
Timeout handling
Graceful degradation
Fallback models
Error recovery
Response validation
The goal isn't perfect uptime.
It's building applications that recover gracefully when things inevitably go wrong.

βš™οΈ Infra Loop β€” "Stress Testing"
This week focuses on understanding how the network behaves under sustained load.

Test:
High request volumes
Concurrent users
Long-running requests
Mixed workloads
Queue behaviour
Recovery after failures

Measure:
Latency
Throughput
Success rate
Failure rate
Resource utilisation
Share any performance observations, bottlenecks, or unexpected behaviour you discover.

🌐 Web3 Loop β€” "Production Readiness"
Ask yourself:
Would you trust Ambient to power:

An AI application?
An autonomous agent?
A trading strategy?
A production product?

If not, what would need to improve before you would?

Reliability isn't just a technical metric.
It's what determines whether developers are willing to build on top of Ambient.

Why This Matters
Ambient is designed to become infrastructure for the agentic economy.
Infrastructure isn't judged by flashy demos.

It's judged by whether it's available, predictable, and dependable every single day.
This week helps us uncover the issues that only appear through real-world usage.
Every error report, timeout, retry, failed tool call, and edge case brings us one step closer to building infrastructure developers can trust.

Reliable infrastructure isn't built by avoiding failures. It's built by finding them before they matter.
